Sleigh Rides Highlight Lake Clear Lodge Heritage Celebration
Partnership with Paul Smith’s College Draft Horse Club Announced

(Lake Clear, NY) Lantern-lit sleigh rides, Adirondack Heritage Cooking Demos, Great Camp Dinners, History of Beer Workshops and live Adirondack music highlight the Adirondack Winter Heritage celebration at the Lake Clear Lodge & Retreat (www.LodgeOnLakeClear.com) every weekend from February 7th – March 8th.

As part of the Lake Clear Lodge commitment to local 100 mile products, the Hohmeyer family is pleased to announce a partnership with the Paul Smith’s College Draft Horse Club to provide lantern-lit sleigh rides. Under the direction of Bob Brhel, Associate Professor at the College, rare Canadian Draft Horses will be pulling the sleigh.

This is the 8th year; the Lake Clear Lodge will be featuring moonlight sleigh rides on its lantern-lit nature trails that meander to the shores of secluded Lake Clear.

This 30 minute ride which brings back the memories of yesteryear is $30 per person and children 10 and under is $10. Proceeds will benefit the Paul Smith's College Draft Horse Club and their programs.

As part of its Adirondack Winter Heritage celebration, the Lake Clear Lodge is also conducting a series of Adirondack heritage cooking demos ranging from pioneering and Old World recipes to the days of the Adirondacks cure cottages.

In its celebration of Adirondack heritage, the historic Lake Clear Lodge as one of the last original Adirondack lodges still open to the public will also feature its internationally recognized great camp dinners. Special for the Heritage Celebration will also be unique workshops and tastings on the “History of Winter Beer.”

To cap off the celebration there'll also be live Adirondack music each weekend.(subject to change)

“The Lake Clear Lodge is proud to be part of the Adirondack community since 1886” commented Executive Chef and co-owner Cathy Hohmeyer. “It is a natural for us to bring back
some of these Adirondack traditions that once was a way of life here at the Lodge when it served as a post office, trading post and a stagecoach inn.”

The Lake Clear Lodge is an award winning facility including a National Geographic Traveler award for "keeping a sense of place” and an Audubon International 5 Green Leaf hotel.
